3L | Milwaukee, WI | Macalester College | email@example.com
Hi, and welcome to KU Law! My name is Beth Hanus, and I am a 3L from a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where I studied economics and psychology. I was interested in the law during undergrad, but I knew I wanted to get some work experience before going to law school. Directly out of undergrad, I worked in corporate banking and then in the capital markets.
My interest in the law, however, only continued to grow through the exposure I had while working. After much consideration, I decided to leave my job to attend law school. When deciding where to go for law school, one of the top factors influencing my decision was the people and finding the right fit. I knew I wanted to attend a law school that would be academically rigorous and give me practical skills, but equally high on my list was having a welcoming and collaborative environment.
It was through talking with current students, alumni and professors that I knew I would find all of these things at KU Law. As I continue my time in Green Hall, I feel confident in my decision to become a KU lawyer. I am being challenged academically and, equally as important, the community has been as friendly as expected. I have met a diverse group of students, and the professors have been approachable and focused on teaching.
I know what a big decision it is to choose where to go to law school, so please feel free to email me if you have any questions. I would happy to try to help you figure out if KU Law is the right fit for you!
