Hi! My name is Omar Husain, and I am a 1L from Lenexa, Kansas. I did my undergrad in biology at the University of Kansas. Even though I majored in biology, I have been interested in law school since high school. I chose biology because I love science and I figured I would do enough reading and writing in law school. I was right!

Law school came onto my radar toward the end of high school when I heard about the LEAD program at KU. The Legal Education Accelerated Degree (LEAD) program puts students on the fast track to law school. It is a six-year program: three years of undergrad and three years of law school. Through the accelerated program, I finished my undergraduate degree in three years (and a summer), and started law school in the fall.

I am very grateful to have discovered KU Law through the LEAD program, and I'm really enjoying law school. It's certainly the most difficult endeavor I have ever undertaken, but the professors, students and friends I am meeting and sharing experiences with along the way are making the journey enjoyable.

I believe that I made the right choices coming to KU and KU Law. If you have any questions about life as a Jayhawk, I’m here for you! I’m excited to help you in your decision process, and I look forward to meeting you. Rock Chalk!
