Hey! My name is Sophia Dinkel, and I am a third-year law student from Norman, Oklahoma. I attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and received a bachelor's in secondary education, social studies. After completing my degree, I  decided to spend some time teaching fifth grade back in my hometown.

I was drawn to law school because of the doors it could open and the intellectual stimulation it provided, but I got so much more when I chose KU for law school. Going into the application process (I know, it’s terrible!), I was looking for four things in a school. First, I was looking for a school that was academically rigorous while still maintaining a quality reputation around the country. Second, I had already experienced a large undergrad university setting and was therefore looking for a smaller school with a close-knit environment. Third, I was looking for a collegial and supportive community from not only the students, but also the professors. Finally, I was looking for a town to call home in a place that I felt comfortable and could be myself.

I found all of that and more at KU Law! I feel at home both in Green Hall and in Lawrence. I know I made the right choice. I look forward to helping you in your decision, hopefully for KU Law. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!.
